Weapons Offenses Carry Serious Mandatory Minimums
In most cases, gun and firearm charges carry serious mandatory minimum jail sentences. This is especially true if the offender is using or carrying a weapon in the commission of a crime. For example, a robbery, where a deadly weapon is involved, will carry a minimum four-year jail sentence.
When a criminal offense involves a gun or another weapon (e.g. brass knuckles, knives, blunt objects, etc.), it is more difficult to get a reasonable bail, let alone any bail at all.
Without an effective and aggressive defense team on your side, an accused offender may be stuck in jail for weeks or months waiting for a trial date to be set.
